Which way the market is moving

MyState selects TCS BaNCS for core banking

MyState Limited has selected TCS BaNCS to transform its core banking operations 1.

Tata Consultancy Services announced on 14 October 2026 that MyState Limited has selected TCS BaNCS to transform its core banking operations 1. TCS BaNCS is TCS's own banking platform, so MyState is taking software and the transformation program from the same supplier 1.

The deal gives TCS another Australian reference for its core banking platform 1. The TCS announcement, as provided to us, does not set out scope, timeline or contract value, so those details remain unconfirmed 1. Institutions planning their own core replacement will want to watch how the program is staged and delivered over the coming year 1.

What it means: A single supplier for platform and delivery simplifies accountability but concentrates risk, so contract terms on milestones, exit and knowledge transfer matter more. Mutuals and smaller banks weighing core replacement now have a nearby peer to compare against.

Questions for vendors:

  1. Which Australian institutions are live on your core platform, and how long did each migration take?
  2. How do you split responsibility between platform licence, implementation and ongoing run services?
  3. What exit and data portability terms do you offer if we move off the platform later?

Indian IT services firms report Q2 results

Wipro and Persistent results drew market reaction as HCL Tech and others were due to report Q2 results this week 25.

The Economic Times listed HCL Tech and Wipro among 129 companies set to report Q2 results this week 5. CNBC TV18 covered market reaction to Wipro and Persistent numbers on 16 October 2. Wipro and Tech Mahindra were among stocks to watch in Business Standard and CNBC TV18 76.

TCS and HCL Tech were among the top gainers and losers on the Nifty and Sensex on 13 October 8. The established coverage we received does not give revenue, margin, headcount or deal figures 25. Those numbers sit in the firms' own results releases 2.

What it means: Quarterly results are a practical check on the financial health, pricing pressure and staffing plans of offshore delivery partners. Supplier risk teams should read the results of any firm running material services for them.

Questions for vendors:

  1. What did this quarter's results show about utilisation and attrition on accounts like ours?
  2. Are you planning any delivery centre or staffing changes that would affect our services?
  3. How are AI tools changing the pricing and staffing of your managed services contracts?

ASIC seeks a contract CTO as tech chiefs leave

ASIC's security and data chiefs will leave in December, and the watchdog wants a CISO, a CDAO and a "contract CTO" 3.

iTnews reported on 15 October that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission's security and data chiefs will both leave in December 3. The corporate watchdog now wants a chief information security officer, a chief data and analytics officer and a "contract CTO" 3.

That leaves ASIC recruiting for security, data and overall technology leadership at the same time 3. The chief technology role is being sought on a contract basis rather than described as a permanent appointment 3. The changes take effect at the end of the year, with the departures due in December 3.

What it means: Regulated entities may see changes in how ASIC runs its data collection and cyber engagement while new leaders settle in. The use of a contract CTO also shows interim technology leadership is now a normal option for institutions in transition.

Questions for vendors:

  1. Can you supply interim technology or security leadership, and how do you manage conflicts with other clients?
  2. How do you hand over knowledge when an interim leader's contract ends?

SiriusPoint to implement DOCOsoft claims SaaS

SiriusPoint will implement DOCOsoft Vew, an AI-powered cloud-native SaaS claims product, under a partnership with DOCOsoft 4.

DOCOsoft, an Irish claims technology provider to global (re)insurers, announced a partnership with specialty underwriter SiriusPoint 4. SiriusPoint will implement DOCOsoft Vew, which is described as an AI-powered, cloud-native SaaS claims product 4.

The arrangement is framed as a contract to implement the product, so delivery work sits alongside the software subscription 4. It is an example of a specialty insurer moving claims management onto vendor-run cloud software with AI features built in 4. Finextra reported the announcement on 14 October 2026 4.

What it means: Insurers moving claims to SaaS still need integration, data and change work, and should plan who delivers it. AI features in claims tools bring model risk and explainability questions that procurement should raise early.

Questions for vendors:

  1. Which parts of the implementation do you deliver, and which fall to us or a systems integrator?
  2. How are the AI features in the claims workflow tested, monitored and explained to claims staff?
  3. Where is claims data hosted, and can it stay in our required jurisdiction?
